On April 2^nd the National Federation of Professional Bullriders rolled into St. Joseph, Missouri for the tenth consecutive year for the opening banquet of Federation Finals XIII. Twenty-five eager and hungry men assembled at Terrible’s Casino ready to go head to head with the best bulls for six rounds of astonishing action.

Coming into the Finals 18 year old Kansas bull rider Skeeter Kingsolver had only $2486.25 lead over last year’s Reserve and Average Champion Curtis Seamans.

In round one Seth Reynolds fired things up with a 90.5 score on Troy Meech’s bull #7. Craig Sasse claimed second with an 88.5 on 5G Farm’s bull #412. Third went to last year’s Rookie of the Year Jeremy Miller. Miller rode Meech’s bull #75 for 88 pts. Henry Yoder grabbed the fourth position with a 85 on 5G Farm’s bull #401.

Round two saw Josh Baker claim his first and only check when he rode Joe Simon’s bull #69 for 87 points. Second went to Ryan Schumacher for his 85 point ride on Palmer/Mayberry’s bull #93. Danny Schlobohm was 84 points on Shad Smith’s bull #-1 for a third place check. Henry Yoder struck again and split fourth with Skeeter Kingsolver. Kingsolver rode Shad Smith bull #101 for 83.5 and Yoder matched the effort on Shad Smith’s bull F6.

Arkansas bull rider Jimmy Tubbs went to the pay window for the first time when he won round three by riding Troy Meech’s bull #811 for 90 points. Curtis Seamans grabbed second with 88.5 points for ridding 5G Farms bull #412. Danny Schlobohm hit again to place third with 88 pts on John McKee bull #880. Craig Sasse was fourth with 87 pts after riding 5G Farms bull #-13.

First time qualifier Michael Manes captured round four when he teamed up with Jerry Copp’s bull #471 for an impressive 89.5 point effort. Kingsolver was second with his 88 pts ride on Copp’s bull #52. Jimmy Tubbs was third with an 86.5 for his ride on Copp’s #2. Ten time Federation Finals qualifier and two time Federation Cup Champion Justin Carlton struck for 86 points on Shad Smith’s bull #11.

Curtis Seamans showed he was not giving up when he was 88 pts on Frank & Jeff Walkowe’s bull #104. Kingsolver answered right back when he rode Six Crowns Rodeo Co.’s bull #18 for 85.5 to spilt second and third with Chance Roberts who rode Joe Simon’s #-9. Michael Manes rounded out the field with 85 points on Cory Check’s bull #85.

Justin Carlton finished the year in fine fashion winning the sixth round when he matched up with Shad Smith’s bull #07. The result was 90 points. Jimmy Tubbs once again placed by ridding Scott Burruss bull #108 for 87 pts. Tubbs split second and third with Danny Schlobohm who rode Shad Smith’s #18. Matt Birkenholtz was fourth with 85 points aboard Smith’s #-1.

Danny Schlobohm won the Federation Finals Average Championship by ridding five out of six bulls for 423 pts. Skeeter Kingsolver held his lead and claimed the 2007 Federation Cup Championship along with Rookie of the Year.

When it came time for the judges to pick the Reuben Detweiler - Iron Man Award it came down to two men. Neither one of them could be denied this award after the Finals they had. Curtis Seamans and Justin Carlton both took some heavy beatings but came back to win a round a piece, Seamans winning round five with 88 pts and Carlton taking the sixth and final round for 90 pts. These are two very tough men that showed why they have the titles that they have acquired over the years.
